Our Client
The Sovereign Centre is a key landmark in Weston-super-Mare, having been a central part of the town since it opened in the early 1990s. It has evolved from a traditional indoor shopping centre into a modern, multi-use hub that now combines retail with community resources like a fridge, a climate hub, and co-working spaces, serving as a popular meeting point for the town.
The Challenge
The previous website was outdated and difficult to navigate, creating a clunky user experience for visitors. Our mission was to overhaul the site from the ground up, with a primary focus on improving accessibility and user experience.
We identified key areas where the previous website was failing and prioritised improving accessibility across the website, streamlining the end users expereince and creating a modern, easy to use hub for the community!
What we Delivered:
We delivered a fresh, clean, and responsive design to replace the old platform. The new website is built to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience for users planning shopping trips, Browse local events, and finding essential information about the centre.
Interactive Directory
A detailed interative floorplan map of the centre designed for the website to help visitors plan there trip ahead of visting the centre. Each shop has a dedicated page with infomation such as opening times, general store information and links to there websites and online stores.
Meet the Team
We added a “Meet the Team” section to the Sovereign Centre website to strengthen its connection to the community. The goal was to build trust and transparency by showing the people who manage and operate the centre. This makes the centre feel more approachable, reinforcing its role as a key community hub in Weston-super-Mare.

Car Park Page
The Car park page was designed to be as clear and accessible as possible, making it user friendly for everybody! We included large icons at the top of the page that take people straight to the right section of the page. The page has a Disabled parking section with parking bay and lift information, a section for visitors with dogs with clear imagery of the dog friendly exits and a times and tariffs section that is a large font to ensure it is accessible to everybody on every device!
The Finished Website
The new website successfully addresses the challenges of the old platform by offering a seamless and enjoyable digital experience. We replaced the outdated design with a clean, responsive interface, transforming the Sovereign Centre’s online presence. The site is now a valuable community hub, making it easy for visitors to plan trips, find events, and stay connected with the centre. This comprehensive overhaul ensures a modern and accessible platform that will serve the community for years to come.
